Longleaf Elementary's makerspace is a designated area where students can engage in creative, hands-on learning experiences. It's a flexible space stocked with a variety of materials like building blocks, craft supplies, brain teasers, and technology like iPads and robotics kits. The focus is on open-ended exploration, problem-solving, and design thinking. Students are encouraged to experiment, collaborate, and bring their ideas to life, fostering innovation and a love of learning through playful creation. Students also get exposure to unique coding activities and the engineering process fostering an environment for imagining, building, testing, and refining.
