The Longleaf Elementary Student Ambassadors are a dedicated group of 5th graders who exemplify exceptional character, integrity, and a strong work ethic. Chosen for their responsibility, kindness, and leadership, these student leaders represent the heart of our school community. Whether welcoming guests, assisting with schoolwide events, or serving as positive role models for younger peers, the Ambassadors lead by example every day and help make Longleaf Elementary a welcoming place to learn and grow.

After School Clubs and Activities

Longleaf Elementary School is proud to offer a rich variety of after-school clubs that spark curiosity, creativity, and connection across all grade levels. Designed to engage every student, our diverse programs feature something for every personality and passion—whether your child is an aspiring scientist, a creative artist, a budding athlete, or a master strategist.These clubs give students continuous opportunities to deepen their interests, build confidence, and forge lasting friendships beyond the regular school day. At Longleaf, learning, discovery, and fun continue long after dismissal!

Junior Art Club

Unleash your creativity in the Junior Art Club with Ms. Moore! Exclusively for 3rd and 4th graders, this monthly club gives young artists the chance to experiment with specialized materials and tackle unique projects outside of regular art class. Spots are strictly limited to 15 students to ensure a hands-on, interactive studio experience, so be sure to sign up early! A $15 fee covers all project supplies and an official Art Club t-shirt.

Senior Art Club

Take your artistic skills to the next level in the Senior Art Club with Ms. Moore! Reserved exclusively for 5th graders, this monthly club gives budding artists the space to experiment with specialty materials and create unique projects beyond the standard art curriculum. A $15 fee covers all project supplies and a brand-new Art Club t-shirt. Space is strictly limited to 15 students to ensure a focused, hands-on studio experience, so be sure to register early!

Animal Care Club

The Animal Care Club brought animal lovers together monthly to discover how to care for creatures big and small! Club members enjoyed hands-on learning and met incredible guest visitors—including a bird, a jumping spider, and a fluffy long-haired rabbit. Beyond learning about animal welfare, these compassionate students put their love for animals into action by collecting donations for the Hub City Humane Society to help local shelter pets in need.

Designed for players of all skill levels, this club focuses on mastering fundamental skills—including throwing, catching, and fielding—through engaging drills and friendly play. While we work hard on building technique and teamwork, our #1 priority is having fun. Join us on the field to build confidence, make friends, and enjoy the game!

Come read, relax, and connect! Our club is all about student choice—you pick whatever books you love, and we get together to chat, swap recommendations, and discover new favorites. There is zero assigned reading and no pressure! To mix things up, meetings also feature fun games like Mahjong, hands-on STEM challenges, and interactive activities. It’s the perfect place to unwind, share great stories, and enjoy a good time with friends.

The Longleaf Elementary Soccer Club gives 3rd through 5th graders a fun, active opportunity to build field skills, practice teamwork, and show great sportsmanship. Designed for players of all experience levels, the club emphasizes athletic fundamentals, physical fitness, and school spirit on and off the field. Whether learning footwork basics, practicing drills, or encouraging teammates, students gain confidence, build lasting friendships, and develop a love for the game in a positive, supportive environment.

Exclusively for grades 3-5, the Longleaf Elementary Student Council gives our senior elementary students a dedicated platform to practice civic leadership and make a positive impact on their school community. Elected to represent their peers, council members lead community service initiatives and bring student ideas directly to school leadership.

Talk Stars gives students an exciting space to find their voice and build confidence in public speaking. Through engaging activities, speech practice, and fun storytelling exercises, members learn to organize their thoughts, articulate ideas clearly, and captivate an audience.

The Young Men of Longleaf empowers young leaders to discover what true strength looks like through service, respect, and positive character. Focused on modeling healthy, appropriate masculinity, the club teaches members that genuine leadership is rooted in integrity, humility, and supporting those around them. Through practical mentorship, group discussions, and hands-on service projects, students learn how to lead by example, take responsibility, and make a meaningful impact in their school and community.
