Parental Involvement

Large group gathering at Longleaf

Longleaf Elementary highly values parental involvement as a cornerstone of student success. We believe that a strong partnership between home and school significantly impacts a child's educational journey. Parents are encouraged to be active participants through various avenues, including joining the PTO, educating themselves on the school’s Title 1 status, volunteering in classrooms or at school events, attending parent-teacher conferences, and staying informed about their child's progress. Your engagement, whether big or small, plays a crucial role in creating a supportive and thriving learning environment for every Longleaf student.

Title 1

Longleaf Elementary proudly operates as a Title I school, dedicated to ensuring all students achieve academic success. This designation means we receive federal funding to support our students, particularly those who may be at risk of not meeting academic standards. We use these resources to provide enhanced educational programs, additional staffing, and targeted interventions, fostering a nurturing and equitable learning environment where every child can thrive. Longleaf is committed to closing achievement gaps and empowering our diverse student body.

Parent-Teacher Organization

The Longleaf Elementary PTO is a vital group of parents and teachers dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for all students. They organize fundraisers for essential resources, coordinate volunteer efforts for school events, and contribute to enrichment programs and classroom needs. The PTO's commitment helps provide crucial funding for teacher grants, school supplies, and various activities that enrich student learning and create a vibrant, supportive environment for everyone at Longleaf.
