MAP: Measure Academic Progress This test will precisely measure growth and performance. It measures what students know and informs what they’re ready to learn next. MAP by NWEA is given 3 times a year to Grades 1-5. Teachers use the information to differentiate instruction and pinpoint individual needs.

About the test: The 3rd Grade Summative Assessment is a multiple-choice test that will be given online via a computer or tablet in your child’s classroom. All 3rd grade public school students are required to take and PASS this assessment. The Literacy-Based Promotion Act requires students to take the MKAS2 3rd Grade Reading Summative Assessment to ensure they are reading at grade level by the end of 3rd grade

1. Is my child reading grade-level books, stories, poems, and articles with fluency and understanding?

 2. What are the results of my child’s STAR report? This report provides information about your child’s reading progress throughout the school year.

Mississippi Academic Assessment Program (MAAP) is designed to measure student achievement for English Language Arts and Math and to provide valid and reliable results to guide instruction. This is given once a year to grades 1 - 5 in the Spring.
